Hart's Bar-B-Q

This was my first time visiting Hart’s but it won’t be my last. First of all, ask for Ms. Christy!! She is amazing. Ms. Christy greeted me as soon as the door opened. I told her I had no idea what I wanted to order - she gave me a menu, offered suggestions, and provided a welcoming smile. The young lady who actually took my order wasn’t as friendly and she slammed my card on the counter which is the only reason I deducted 1 star from service. I handed her the receipt and pen in her hand, but she slammed my card again when I made a 2nd order. Now, the food review: 1. PULLED PORK NACHOS!!! 10/10 The pulled pork was delicious all by itself… seasoned well, melt in your mouth but combined with nachos OMG AMAZING It was so good I ate 1/2 of the nachos before I realized I forgot to add the barbecue sauce. Thank you Ms Christy for recommending them!! She was eating nachos on her break and it looked so good I had to order. She even offered me a bite of her nachos to taste. 2. Fish on a Bun 7/10. The fish was seasoned well and the condiments were fresh. I prefer my fish fried a little harder, especially for a sandwich. That’s my only complaint. Overall, good sandwich! 3. Rib & Brisket Plate 9/10! The ribs and brisket were delicious, without barbecue sauce. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth… the potato salad and baked beans were fresh, delicious. I usually don’t eat onions in my potato salad but it was GOOD! Oh, and the barbecue is awesome I can’t wait to order more food off the menu. Very nice We went on a Saturday at 3 pm and there was place for us The place is nice and clean and the young people that work there are very kind We ask for cheeseburger and cajun fries with Dr. Pepper and Iced tea. Everything was very tasty and the drinks were refill. I recommend this place

They were very busy while we were there. However, the food was amazing. The service was better than expected. All around, enjoyable place.

If you travel through or anywhere near Kentwood, La and you have a love for Brisket or BBQ you must visit this family owned restaurant. They serve the most AMAZING brisket that I have ever tasted anywhere. Great flavor, fall apart tender, and so so delicious! And for an appetizers they have a great selection. We tried the fried green beans. These were great. My favorite sides were the loaded baked potato salad and their green beans. Both were so so good! I live an hour away and since discovering Hart’s a few months ago we make a point to go once or twice a month. The 1 lb larger brisket plates comes to about $16. (You have a choice of 1/2 lb or 1 lb plates) And it is worth every $. One plate can easily make two meals for me which is great. The menu has lots of other good selections as well so I look forward to trying out some of those too. Like the Po-boy sandwiches. So I have no problem telling you the service, the employees and the food are amazing. They are located just a very short 5 minute detour off the interstate and we’ll worth it. Don’t let the home town unassuming appearance fool you either. It might be small but it has five star food!!

My brother & I checked out this place on our lunch break for the first time and everything was exceptional. Food, service & price couldn’t have been better…I had the lunch special which was a Country fried steak plate…10/10, I definitely encourage anyone in the area to stop by!
